Capacity development and strengthening of teaching and learning to support the Ministry of Roads and Highways and the transport sector in general in Road and Transportation Engineering, applied research and short courses for industry on urban transport systems planning, road safety and traffic management, highway development and management system (HDM 4), sustainable roundabout planning, design and safety.

Altogether, over seventy (70) engineers have graduated from the programme and 150 trained in various short courses.  The project involved the construction of asphalt and soil laboratories, procurement of asphalt laboratory equipment and traffic counting devices and PTV Vision Software suite for modelling and simulation.
