This involved the development of postgraduate program for the road transport sector in the West African region with support from the University of Birmingham, UK and funded by the World Bank. The main objective was to train road sector engineers at the Master of Science (MSc) level.

The secondary objective was to refresh and update sector engineers and other professionals in selected technical areas through short courses at KNUST as determined from time to time. Additionally, the Project developed the local research capacity for transport-related problems through applied research degrees at KNUST.
