Biography

My name is Jeff, I completed KNUST 2018 with a Bsc.Geomatic engineering. Jeff served as a teaching and research assistant at the department of Geomatic Engineering in KNUST for his national service. Subject areas were GIS ,photogrammetry , remote sensing and Land surveying. Jeff is a practicing Land surveyor,GIS analyst and remote sensing specialist in Kumasi.

Jeff is currently an Msc.Road and transportation Engineering student in KNUST and usually helps researchers in GIS and remote sensing.

Biography

I hold a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2014.

I started my professional career at the Department of Urban Roads in Ghana as an Assistant Traffic and Safety Engineer where I developed skills in designing and programming traffic light controlled intersections and assessing the performance of various traffic intersections in Accra.

Biography

Before entering this TRECK program, I had been working at the Ghana Highways Authority for 8 years, primarily as a Senior Engineer in the Maintenance Division and Bridges Division. I am also a registered Member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers.

I most recently worked as a Senior Engineer on the design and supervision for the construction of six footbridges in Accra. The bridges were constructed to help eradicate the numerous pedestrian accidents on our highways.

Bertha Johnson

Biography

Bertha Johnson is a first year PhD student in the Program in Roads and Transportation at Treck, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Her interests are investigating the engineering properties of granitic rock aggregates for use as pavement construction aggregates.

Bertha graduated with a MPhil in Geological Engineering. For her master's thesis at the Department of Geological Engineering she looked at the susceptibility of some Ghanaian granitic rock aggregates to alkali silica reactivity in Portland Cement concrete.

Biography

I have been working in the Transportation Sector since 2011. My experiences span across the areas of Traffic Engineering, Road Safety Research, Transport Services, Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Proposal Writing and Stakeholder Engagement.

I have worked on two ReCAP (Research for Community Access Partnership) projects, notably; Identification of hazardous sections of rural feeder roads in Ghana (2016); and Rural Transport Diagnostics in Ghana (2017).

I am an industrious, astute and versatile civil engineer with working experiences in both solid waste management and road contract procedures and construction. Currently, I am a senior engineer with the Ghana Highway Authority.
