Capacity Building for Urban Transport and Mobility (CUMT)

The project is a component of the Ghana Urban Mobility and Accessibility Project (GUMAP). GUMAP is a project to improve on mobility and transport in the capital city of Ghana, Accra (US$6million).  CUMT involves the setting up of an MSc. programme in Transport Planning to train mid-career professionals in areas such as traffic planning, traffic management, intelligent transport systems, traffic flow modelling and transport demand modelling.

The first batch of students have been recruited and registered. The Civil Engineering Department and the Department of Planning are collaborating with EPFL (Switzerland) on this project. It also includes the development of staff capacities for KNUST, students and staff exchanges and research prospecting.
