Partner and Stakeholder Activities

TRECK welcomes new and maintains collaborations with academic (national & regional) and transport industry stakeholders worldwide for the development of Africa. The key activities with various stakeholders and partners are elaborated below.

Industry/sector partners

Activities with national and regional partners and stakeholders are aimed at deepening the relationship with industry whilst ensuring the relevance of research, education and training programmes. The objective is to build capacity by offering opportunities for training and other activities including:

  • Enrolling staff into post-graduate programmes 
  • Run short courses for continuing professional development
  • Industry outreach/ internships programme (for students and staff)
  • Joint research, solving developmental problems, and publication
  • Case studies in transport systems
  • Scholarship for staff
  • Consultancy assignment in the region
  • Development of training manuals
  • Industry Guest lecturers’ input into capacity building and training,

 

Academic Partners

Our academic partners are both national and regional and provide linkages to students in Ghana and in the region. TRECK offers scholarships to academic staff members who wish to upgrade their knowledge and skills. It also serves all. Key among the activities are:

  • Joint research design
  • Supervision and review of students research projects
  • Guest lecturers for course modules
  • Co-design of curriculum
  • Accreditation of academic programmes
  • Internship of staff
  • Student recruitment

 

Activities with Global Partners

Our global partners bring excellence and leadership skills to the Centre. Many of them also serve in advisory capacity and as mentors. Activities depend on the expertise and resources available but generally will include:

  • Training and development of digital courses
  • Joint supervision and publications
  • Student and staff exchanges
  • Staff capacity building
  • Joint proposal for funding
  • Participation in international scientific advisory board
  • Mentorship for researchers/graduate students
  • Joint conferences on transport and logistics
