During a 3- days visit to Monrovia, Republic of Liberia to recruit academic and industrial partners, the Leadership of the Regional Transport Research and Education Centre Kumasi (TRECK) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) held collaboration discussions with the Dean, Faculty of Engineering and the Civil Engineering Department of the University of a Liberia, the Ministry of Public Works and the Management of the Infrastructure Implementation Unit (IIU).

The agreed to collaborate in capacity building of faculty and the training staff and research in the area of transport. Various postgraduate programmes of TRECK- KNUST were presented. All the partner concluded that a memorandum of understanding should be initiated and concluded within two months to enable the activities to start.
